Introduction
Millie is my new working cocker spaniel puppy, I am training her so she can work on my local shoot, enter working tests at my gundog club and if up to it enter field trials. She has a strong pedigree so I am ever hopeful she'll turn out to be a good and honest worker.
To keep track of mine and Millies progress I thought I would keep an online diary of our weekly exploits, maybe I will even get some tips from helpful people out there.
I have broken progress into different weeks, starting with week 11 (her age). You can access the different weeks using the navigation bar on the right hand side of each page.
Week 12
Monday
There have been a few pheasants hanging in the garage that have certainly get her attention! Not that I'm discouraging her from investigating. Training has been the same format as usual, she's really enjoying playing in the long grass over the country park, getting very quick now too. Today she has also discovered the taste of apples and evidently she likes it, she must have carried 3 different apples around on todays walk. I'm very happy to see her carrying things around and she'll bring them to me too.
I have a wing covered dummy in the bag that got her very excited this afternoon, that's for another day though.
